Learning To Fail
What We Did
The Learning to Fail Project (LTFP) pilot gave young people from marginalised
backgrounds an opportunity to reflect on their situation, challenge predominant stereotypes, and give them the confidence to achieve their potential.
The project inspired and motivated young people to implement different ideas in their journey to success. Workshops were the main mode of delivery as they allowed for personal interaction with participants.
Through seminars on financial literacy, emotional intelligence and the power of relationships we danced around the subject called risk. Our aim was to create a secure foundation that taught the basics of these subjects that would empower our young people to succeed in life.
We had the privilege of hearing speakers from a variety of backgrounds, got to grips with public speaking and began to give language to hope in a world where it is possible to live intentionally and on purpose.
There were what can only be described as magic moments in these seminars where we got to see young people we had been engaging with for months and years make the decision to pursue further education, get into employment and start businesses. In laying strong fundamental foundations we got to witness young people begin to pursue purpose. And the most fun thing about the whole thing was that these positive changes were brought about from a course called Learning to Fail.
We highlighted that anything and everything is possible, but emphasised that the greatest growth happens when one learns from failure.
